Trafficking: Katsina victims sold into slavery in Burkina Faso rescued Indigenes of Katsina State and victims of human trafficking sold out into slavery in Burkina Faso were reportedly said to have been rescued and are expected back home in Katsina State today, Tuesday. The Katsina State government through the Director-General to Governor Aminu Bello Masari on Media, Abdu Labaran confirmed the development. Looking at the figures that bespeak the level of our underdevelopment, and the dooming atmosphere that envelopes the nation and her citizenry, there are very few reasons for Nigerians to be proud of their independence. First, let’s look at a few critical metrics which all point in the negative direction. Nigeria ranks 144 out of 180 countries in the Transparency International, TI, 2018 Corruption Perception Index, CPI. Treasonable Felony: Court remands Sowore, co-defendant in DSS custody The Federal High Court in Abuja, on Monday, ordered that the convener of RevolutionNow protest, Mr. Omoyele Sowore should be remanded in custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, till Friday when it will hear his bail application. Trial Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu remanded Sowore and his co-defendant, Olawale Adebayo Bakare (aka Mandate), shortly after they pleaded not guilty to a seven-count charge the Federal Government preferred against them.
